The Daintree River Cruise Centre has been operating one hour to full day specialised cruises since 1987, making it one of the oldest running operators on the Daintree River today.
The River guides are well informed naturalists and biologists and also keen bird watchers. They will make any of the cruises on offer exciting, memorable and educational on what this unique Eco System has to offer.
As you cruise the tidal convergence zone, where warm seawater and cool freshwater meet, you will have the opportunity to see Estuarine Crocodiles, endemic birds to the region, frogs, pythons, tree snakes, butterflies and insects, some of these are rare and only found in this area. Also many different species of Mangroves there are 31 species in this single estuary which makes it perhaps the most species-rich mangrove estuary in the world, this is also the tidal convergence zone where mangroves merge with the World Heritage Rainforest of the Daintree Region.
Daintree River Cruise Centre is also proud in being Advanced Eco Tourism Accredited since 2000 and has also just received it Eco IV Advanced Accreditation, ROC Certification which is The Respecting Our Culture (ROC) Program is a tourism industry development tool designed by Aboriginal Tourism Australia (ATA) and administered by Ecotourism Australia and is also a certified Climate Action Business.
The Daintree River Cruise Centre is located on privately owned land, on the banks of the Daintree River, with its own private jetty to avoid the crowds. There a 5 comfortable vessels, each specifically designed for the river conditions, and viewing capability. Each boat is equipped with the most technologically advanced OEDA Rating 3 Motors that provide near silent propulsion with an absolute minimum of vibration, exhaust omission and wake, therefore not scaring off the wildlife and making the most of an unforgettable cruise on the Daintree River.
All amenities are provided with complimentary refreshments (Daintree Tea, Coffee, and cold drinks) serve prior to your river cruise. We are the only ones that have large shaded gardens with picnic tables overlooking the river for those who wish to bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Daintree River and Mountainous backdrop.
